Claresa Levetan MD, Co-Founder, CureDM, Inc., Selected for the Class of 2009 Women of Distinction by Philadelphia Business Journal
WYNNEWOOD, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Dr. Claresa Levetan, a co-founder of CureDM, Inc., www.CureDM.com, was named as a 2009 Business Woman of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal and National Association of Women Business Owners. CureDM is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing novel therapeutic approaches to diabetes. Dr. Levetan is recognized for her commitment to science, business and community involvement.

Claresa Levetan co-founded CureDM in 2004 and was the lead clinical scientist of a patented discovery that identified a novel treatment approach for diabetes, which addresses the underlying mechanism of the disease. This new therapy, named Pancreate™, has the potential to reverse both type 1 and 2 diabetes and is expected to enter clinical trials in early 2010. Dr. Levetan was also formerly the Chief of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Hahnemann University Hospital, Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital and Drexel University College of Medicine.
A resident of Rosemont, PA, Dr. Levetan attributes her success, both scientifically and professionally, on her unwavering focus and dedication to improve the lives of patients with diabetes. She is keenly aware that current therapies, including insulin, do not address the underlying mechanism causing diabetes, which was her impetus for founding CureDM, Inc.
