Noble Energy crews and officials from Environmental Protection Agency are cleaning up the oil spill in Colorado River. Around 7,500 gallons of crude leaked. Crews are using absorbent materials to remove the oil and a vacuum truck is also being used to clean up tainted water.
Todd Hartman, a representative for the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, made a statement that the company involved in the oil spill is doing its part with regards to the clean up. He also said that the oil spill affected nearby water and vegetation but contamination to the river is “very low”.
Hartman confirmed that no drinking water is affected on the Poudre River but Noble Energy is also draining an undamaged tank as a safety precaution.
