David DaVinci & Ringling Bros. Circus Takes Tallahassee by Storm – By Heather Biance

It was a night filled with ooohs and ahhhs as kids of all ages piled into the Leon County civic center for the Greatest Show on Earth.
Kids were invited down for the best seats in the house for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey pre-show, where they could get truly hands on.
The show later opened up with all members of the crew and illusionist David DaVinci took the ring showing off his tricks of making things disappear and reappear.
“I’ve never seen a circus that’s had magic in it and it’s not a magic show and it’s a just a new environment to be partly surrounded, had some challenges to make specific illusions for this show. We’ve actually put together some illusions that haven’t been done anywhere else,” says illusionist David DaVinci.
Our very own Julie Montanaro was Friday night’s guest ring leader, kicking off the event.
Whether it was massive yet graceful elephants to mind blowing acrobatics, the show was entertaining through and through.
This show will be in town through this Sunday.
Critically acclaimed and internationally revered, master illusionist, David DaVinci has made a name for himself as a top-notch entertainer and a world class magician. A young virtuoso, David at 25 years old has already completed two world tours with sold out performances in over 20 countries, appeared in numerous television programs, holds a world record for a free diving card trick and will now be able to add performing with The Greatest Show On Earth® to his long list of achievements.
Born as Dave Womach in Spokane, Washington, his introduction to magic began at an early age. Playing with a magic kit his older brother Chet had received for a Christmas gift, David was instantly captivated by the craft. For a nickel each, David’s neighbors could enjoy a mini performance put on by the young Copperfield. As David’s passion and skill for magic intensified, he began performing for larger audiences. His first professional appearance before he was able to drive was performing close up magic at Red Robin, a family-friendly restaurant. By the time he was 17 years old, David was making his mark in the magic world by performing up to five shows a day at Silverwood Theme Park and winning competitions against magicians twice his age from all over the world.
At 18 David appeared on television in front of over 200 million people in China and at 19 he raised over $2 million for charities touring all over Canada. Immediately following David’s 20th birthday, he hit the waves, headlining for luxurious cruise liners including Disney Cruise Lines, Holland America, NCL and Princess Cruise Lines. With an already long list of accomplishments and hundreds of shows under his belt, David was ready to move on to his next challenge, so he packed up and moved overseas to Saipan where he starred in his own show for over 13 months.
While in Saipan, David caught the attention of world renowned illusionist, David Copperfield, who was impressed with the close bond that David shared with the two Bengal tigers and parrots that were in his show. Copperfield immediately hired David to train two Macaws and four Toucans as a feature on his private island in the Bahamas. David was ecstatic when he was invited to join The Greatest Show On Earth for the new 2010-2011 tour. Prior to joining Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®, David finished his North American tour entitled Enigma.
Joining David on his new two year adventure is his wife and lead assistant, Jamie Womach and their 10 feathered friends, which include an African Grey, three Rose Breasted Cockatoos, a Toucan, a Blue Throated Macaw, two Camelot Macaws and a Military Macaw.
