Heartbeat Digital Spins Off Heartbeat Software
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Heartbeat Digital, an interactive marketing agency, has spun off its software division, Heartbeat Software. Heartbeat Software is now an independent company. Neither Heartbeat Digital, nor its parent, Drumbeat Digital LLC, retains any ownership of Heartbeat Software. The companies legally separated as of December 1, 2009.
Heartbeat Digital will continue to be run by Chairman and CEO Bill Drummy, while Heartbeat Software will be run by former Heartbeat Software President Jonah Meyers.
Mr. Drummy explained the reasons for spinning off the division. “For the last several years we have been operating the divisions pretty much independently, although we had shared back office and support services, as well as our headquarters location in New York. With our recent growth, Heartbeat Digital will be moving into new headquarters in Manhattan, so the shared economies will no longer be there. But by far the bigger reason is that each organization has such a different mission, business structure and marketing plan that we believe that we can be more focused and grow faster as independent entities.”
Neither company will change the names under which they have been doing business.
