Jane Campion talks to Reader’s Digest
JANE CAMPION, award winning film director discusses her inspiration for new film Bright Star… her 14-year-old daughter:
“I feel dwarfed by her… she’s me, tripled. At her age, I was really stumbling around. But you don’t want to say too much, because it’s hard enough having a famous parent.”
“There’s a way in which we don’t trust young people to be capable of anything much. But having read Keats, I started thinking it’s all rubbish: they’re probably capable of an awful lot – we just don’t give them the chance.”
