Models Direct Reflect on British Fashion Awards Results

December 9th 2009 saw the star-studded fashion event of the year: the British Fashion Awards. Held at the Royal Court of Justice in London, eleven awards were presented for the top British designers, models and collections.

Models Direct were pleased to hear that it was a good night for Christopher Bailey, who won the British Fashion Council’s Designer of the year as well as receiving the award for best Designer Brand for Burberry. It’s been a good week for him as he also collected his MBE from Buckingham Palace.

Another Models Direct favourite was also picking up an award. Daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, Georgia Jagger was named Model of the Year, beating off competition from rival young models Daisy Lowe and Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely.

Last month Models Direct reviewed their favourites for the London 25 award, a one-off prize for London’s style ambassador as a celebration of the last 25 years of London fashion. It was up to the public to decide and vote who should be the winner. Models Direct’s favourites included Sir Paul Smith and Dame Vivienne Westwood, but it was model Kate Moss who was declared the winner.
