NYSSA Challenge Kicks Off with Bitstream Inc. as Subject Company
16 universities to compete in a program designed to teach business and finance students how to research and report on a publicly traded company
MARLBOROUGH, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Bitstream Inc. (NASDAQ: BITS) announced that it has been selected as the subject company in the New York Society of Security Analysts’ (NYSSA) 8th Annual Investment Research Challenge. Bitstream was selected in response to company CEO Anna Chagnon’s presentation to the NYSSA in June 2009.
The Investment Research Challenge, which commences on Friday, November 20, is an educational initiative in which leading industry professionals teach business and finance students how to research and report on a publicly traded company. It consists of training in research and report writing, analysis of a public company, mentoring by a professional research analyst, assessment of written reports, and presentation of research to a high profile panel of Wall Street experts. NYSSA introduced the Challenge eight years ago as a means to promote best practices in research among the next generation of analysts.
“It is an honor to have been chosen as the subject company in the NYSSA Investment Challenge,” said Chagnon. “In past years the NYSSA has selected household brands such as Phillips-Van Heusen and Tasty Baking, as well as companies from hot sectors like biopharmaceutical. We believe that being selected as the subject company suggests that mobility is a hot industry sector, and Bitstream is grateful to have this opportunity for further exposure to the investment community.”
With the introduction of its BOLTTM mobile browsing software – optimized to load desktop-style Web pages on all levels of mobile devices – Bitstream has proved to be a key innovator in the mobile Internet revolution. Since its introduction last February, over 2.6 million BOLT accounts have been created, with as many as 2.5 million pages being served up each day.
BOLT is the latest in a long line of Bitstream’s innovative product offerings which include: Pageflex customized marketing communications software; MyFonts.com, the world’s leading provider of fonts to consumers; and award-winning fonts and font technologies that enable manufacturers and developers to render the highest quality text at any resolution, on any device, in any language.

Zarb School of Business, NYU Stern School of Business, Pace University’s Lubin School of Business, The Peter J.
