One-off Fashion Award for London’s Style Ambassador

London Fashion Week has been and gone but the British Fashion Council is continuing the 25th anniversary celebrations. A one-time award called London 25 will be given to the person who most directly represents the spirit of London and who is regarded as an ambassador for the capital’s fashion. Models Direct list their favourite nominees.

Seventeen men and women have been nominated for the award, including models, designers and style icons. The result is up to the public: anyone can vote for the winner on the British Fashion Council website.

So, who are Models Direct’s favourites?

Dame Vivienne Westwood

How could we not mention the woman behind punk and new wave fashion? Models Direct loved her swashbuckling spring/summer men’s collection which drew inspiration from pirates, Zorro and Robin Hood.

Christopher Kane

Models Direct loves Christopher Kane’s high fashion designs, but we love him even more for his affordable collaboration with high-street shop Topshop. In 2007 he won New Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards; will he be going home with another trophy this year?

Sir Paul Smith

For decades he has been a menswear icon with his sharp tailoring and signature stripes as well as proving popular with women. Although he has stores all over the world, the operational hub is still located between Nottingham and London.

Alexa Chung

Models Direct loves this young model and television presenter, even if she has left us for America. The modelling agency loves her casual chic style and no doubt a lot of the UK does as well!

Basically, Models Direct like all of the candidates! The winner will be revealed at the British Fashion Awards, taking place on December 9th at the Royal Courts of Justice. Other awards will be awarded to celebrate British models, designers and brands.
