Social Networking Takes a Plunge to Support Wherever The Need’s Worldwide Sanitation Efforts
Entrepreneur and Social Media Guru to Donate Proceeds of New Book to International NGO
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Today, International sanitation non-profit Wherever The Need (WTN) and Internet entrepreneur Jason Moffatt have announced that Moffatt will be donating 100% of the proceeds of his new book, Twitter for the Sh-tter, to the charity. The book is a collection of Moffatt’s Tweets from the past year, with a focus on potty humor.
“My book is crappy in the most literal sense,” said Moffatt, “so it seemed like a natural fit to use it to help Wherever The Need’s important mission.”
The announcement is in support of World Toilet Day, an international effort dedicating November 19th to raising money and awareness about the oft-overlooked sanitation issue.
“Jason is a brilliant marketer and an influential member of the internet community,” said Beverly Visty-Doman, Executive Director of Wherever The Need USA. “With 2.5 billion people worldwide lacking access to proper sanitation and water his support couldn’t have come at a more crucial time.”
WTN has been a leading charity with regard to using social media to raise money and awareness for its cause. Earlier this year, the group launched the Twitter for Sh-tters campaign, developed by social engagement studio Skadaddle Media, calling on Twitter users to raise funding to build eco-sanitation toilets where they are needed most.
