Tailored Tadpole introduces their Spring line for boys and girls, infant to size 6. From the boys deck pants and coordinating tees to the funky take on the classic romper, Tailored Tadpole is what today’s kids are about. An occasional frayed edge, amazing attention to detail, and uncompromising workmanship, put this collection on mom’s must have list for 2009.
Linde Balderas, Tailored Tadpole owner and designer, says her inspiration comes from her own two little ones. “I design what I want my kids to wear,” she says of Marina, three, and Soren, almost one year. “I don’t want them to look like miniature adults, that time will come soon enough,” she laughs. “I want them in sophisticated, yet fun, modern, slightly funky styles, you don’t see everywhere you go. I love garments that reflect a child’s individual personality and uniqueness, while appealing to mom and dad’s sense of style at the same time.”
Her ideas take form in the beautifully appliqued guitars, elephants, trees, and abstract designs of the Lounge wear collection—-comfortable, stylish clothing for more casual occasions: travel by plane, or a just a trip to the playland.
Balderas says she believes firmly in fair trade and labor practices, and she backs it up by producing all of the Tailored Tadpole line in the USA. Tailored Tadpole ECO also launches, Spring of 2009, with vibrant colors, keeping the same urban design aesthetic. “We do what we can to reduce our footprint on the planet,” says the designer. “This season we introduce earth-friendly fibers wherever possible; hemp, soy, certified organic cotton, and bamboo.” Spring clothing line successfully debuted at the ABC Kid’s Expo in September and at the Dallas Children’s Market in October.
